Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area

The Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, approximately 68,000 acres, is located along the Bighorn River east and north of Lovell, Wyo. The Bighorn Canyon is about 2,500 feet at its deepest. Bighorn sheep, wild horses, mountain lions, bears and more than 200 bird species are among the notable wildlife visitors can see in the area. The recreation area’s visitor center is two-tenths of a mile east of downtown Lovell on U.S. Highway 14, on the south side of the highway. For more information, visit the website linked above.
