Nancy Tabb

Nancy Tabb is local history archivist at the Johnson County Library in Buffalo, Wyoming. Storytelling about the people of Johnson County during her history talks led naturally to writing about them. She and her husband, Dozier, are thankful they had the opportunity to raise their now-grown children in Wyoming.

Frank Grouard lived with Hunkpapa and Oglala Lakota bands as captive, adopted brother and champion hunter. Later he re-entered the world of White men as an army scout in the Indian Wars. He told his life story to Buffalo, Wyoming journalist Joe DeBarthe, who published it—and made some of it up.
