Highland Cemetery

The Highland Cemetery at Conwell and 4th streets in Casper, Wyo., was founded in the early 1890s by Casper Mayor C.K. Bucknum who, saddened by the death of his wife, purchased a quarter section of land east of the city and donated it to the city for a new cemetery. Remains of people in an earlier cemetery near the current intersection of Midwest Ave. and East Yellowstone Highway were reportedly moved to the new site. Many of Casper’s prominent citizens from its early years are buried at the site, along with thousands of others.

The cemetery is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset all year. The cemetery office, open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, keeps burial records. For more information visit the websites linked above or call (307) 235-8317.
